Julia Lupton
Julia Lupton is Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine. She is the author of several books on Shakespeare, including Citizen-Saints (University of Chicago Press, 2005), which analyses themes and scenes of citizenship in Shakespeare’s plays. She is the founding director of Humanities Out There, an educational partnership between her university and a local school district. She is on the national advisory board of Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life, a consortium of colleges, museums, and community organizations. Her Web site, www.ThinkingWithShakespeare.org, supports her teaching, research, and collaborative projects. In 2005, she won a campus-wide Pedagogical Innovation Award, in recognition of her work with technology in the classroom and with various publics.
